Best Features # 1 – Custom made seals make all the difference
Among all the features of the Expedition 134 Box that make it special, and such extraordinary value for money, the weather sealing is one of our favourites. When we designed the Expedition Box, we designed a strong, easy to clean General Purpose box first and then, by adding a proper seal channel and a properly designed and tested seal, gave it added versatility. The seal composition, properties, and dimensions ensure correct compression and rebound (or memory).
The 90-degree compression ridge not only compresses the seal to the correct specification but provides a first stage vertical barrier to water ingress. And if the rain can’t get in, the dust can’t either. We aren’t trying to compare ourselves with specialist equipment like Pelican Cases, but our goal was to bring proper sealing to a tough everyday use type of outdoor product that doesn’t cost a bomb, and that will admirably do more than you expect it to. Here’s a closer look:
A customer’s view
And if that isn’t enough, here is a short video that was sent in by one of our customers after a flight from Melbourne to Hobart and shows just how good the seals are. Yes, this involved severe altitude changes to get this type of effect, but you will even notice this occur if you head up camping in the mountains and then return to sea level.
