Well, we are glad to see the end of last year, that’s for sure! That last month was one of highs and lows for us here at OST, and it was topped off with more border closures…to keep us safe.
From the excitement of new ideas starting to take place, and Nic finally getting back to Australia, to the lows of trying to address quality control issues with our manufacturer. December sucked!
Once again we know what it feels like to have family absent during the festive season as well. For those who are stuck and unable to see family at this time of year, we feel your pain and look forward to a future when families and loved ones can be reunited. We hope everyone is able to make the best of their lot that 2021 brings great things!
Unfortunately, with the manufacturer issues, we have had to pause sales of our much-loved Expedition134 boxes to give us time to address the problem. We will be back better than ever shortly, but if anyone detects a small hole in the base of their box, please contact us immediately and we’ll make arrangements for a replacement. In the meantime, while this gets sorted out, we have been focusing on some exciting new ideas and improvements. Stay tuned!
Reducing the weight of 4WDs continues to be a prominent theme for us at the moment with more and more 4WDers opting to remove their heavy steel drawers and do something a whole lot lighter, often involving our light but tough Expedition134 storage boxes. Keep an eye out for our upcoming blog on how to save weight when planning for your next 4WDing trip.
Back 2 Basics Adventures
Our favourite adventurers, Strick and Azza from @b2badventures, are still out there going strong and filming along the remote Far North Queensland Coast and Great Barrier Reef. Amazing stuff and we can’t wait to see the YouTube videos from these adventures. And yes, our Expedition134 boxes have handled their storage needs the whole way, keeping the ocean out of their gear and their food dry!
Box Feature Highlight of the month
Did you know that the lid of the Expedition134 was not only designed so the boxes will not only stack neatly on top of each other vertically, but will also stack in a brick wall type fashion? If you need to move a stacked box slightly to the left or right, they will still sit snugly in place on the box below them. This feature was designed specifically for those adventurers with multiple cargo challenges who need to make the most of every bit of space with creative stacking.
Shout Out to Tom Lean
A big shout out to Tom Lean, the winner of the massive Christmas competition run conjointly with our friends at EzyAnchor, RacksBrax, Down Under Camping and MaxTrax! Tom’s prizes (valued over a whopping $1700) were shipped off to him and hopefully arrived in time for Christmas and some use on the Western Aussie tracks in the near future. Congratulations from the whole team here and don’t forget to send some pics!
Farewell, happy new year and Good riddance to 2020.
